Martin
Handcraft Standard
#2 Bore
A genuine Vintage Martin Handcraft Standard Cornet.
S/N 126XXX
This one was produced around 1938 to early 1939 - just about the time the legendary Committees were put into production.
Has a very sweet and full rounded tone (ala Martin of the era).
Condition:
- Plays well up and down the range.
- Compression is good
- Fast valve action with no sticking. All slides move easily and smoothly.
- Cosmetically, the horn looks pretty average. It does original valve caps, buttons etc. I will could it genuine wear an tear over 70+ years.
- there has been a dent by the third valve on the bell section which has had a repair and does not affect the sound also a small dent at the end of the bell on the top part of the bend.
Accessories:
- Original Martin Handcraft Case - Latches work - handle does requires repair
The case is original and in relatively good condition (handle is a little delicate) (slight musty smell)- it will hold mutes and has a small compartment underneath the horn for storage
The horn is 73 years old so don't expect anything mint - Do expect to fall in love with that sweet Martin
style tone that is perfect for solo or small jazz work.
